The cost of food and bills is an area that has seen significant increases in recent months. This can be especially challenging for those on a tight budget, such as those relying on welfare benefits or those living on a fixed income. We’re grateful we have a Trussell Trust Food Bank within Bistre West, which is based in Buckley Cross Community Centre.
We are constantly working to find ways to support residents and to ensure that everyone in the community has access to affordable housing, and basic necessities like food and energy. Facing the longest recession since records began, we’re all feeling much more than a pinch, unlike the ultra wealthy friends of the Tories.
While there are no easy solutions to these challenges, we were happy to open a Flintshire Citizens Advice outreach. This places a qualified adviser directly in the ward for residents to speak to in person.
