@RSPCAcymru campaign to stop Goldfish being offered as prizes, but to extend this to stop all creatures from being offered as prizes. #NoFunAtTheFair
Goldfish given as prizes, more often than not, live short and painful lives, kept in unsuitably sized tanks, which fill with toxic chemicals that damage their gills, by inadequately prepared new owners. Goldfish are carp which should live to 10-15 years.
The oldest recorded Goldfish was 43!….older than me!! A goldfish needs around 60 litres of water, think about the size of your blue bin! Add that tapwater has chlorine in, which needs additional chemicals to dechlorinated before being used for fish.
