Tour of Parc Adfer

My visit to Parc Adfer began with an insightful tour guided by staff. We ventured into the heart of the facility, where intricate machinery hinted at the complex processes taking place within.

Parc Adfer is a combined heat and power facility that processes up to 232,000 tonnes of residual waste, Enfinium operate the facility over a 25-year period as Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with support from the Welsh Government to serve the five local authorities that make up the North Wales Residual Waste Treatment Partnership. The facility produces enough energy to power more than 45,000 UK homes and businesses generating 21 Megawatts of energy while offsetting 21,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Parc Adfer stands as a testament to the transformative power of waste-to-energy technology. It demonstrates how effectively we can turn discarded materials into valuable resources, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and promoting a more sustainable future.

As I concluded my visit, I was left with an appreciation for how waste is transformed into energy, creating jobs, powering homes, and contributing to a greener future.
