A successful spring clean-up event took place at the Greenway, Powell Road estate and Bennetts Lane, just in time for the Easter holidays. The initiative was part of the Keep Wales Tidy Spring Clean campaign and was organised by staff from Wales & West, with valuable support from the Cllrs Carolyn Preece & Dan Rose and FCC Streetscene team.
The event aimed not only to tidy up the area, but also to continue engaging local residents in conversations around recycling and the proposed changes to black bin collections.
Children played an active role in the clean-up, taking part in litter-picking activities alongside their parents. Their efforts were rewarded with Easter eggs and fun activities as a thank you for their contribution.
Cllr Carolyn Preece commented, “Many thanks to everyone who helped – in just one afternoon, we managed to fill over 13 bin bags and make a real difference in the area.”
It was a great example of community spirit and collaboration, helping to keep our ward cleaner and greener.
